2008 BCS Sugar Bowl - Alabama Came to Play, in the State of Utah Came to Win and SO too easily, 31-17

More than 50 years of football so tell me, pains but Alabama came to play in the 2008 BCS sugar Bowl and Utah came to win the Sugar Bowl. Guess what happened? Utah did Alabama seem half the team is winning convincingly, 31-17.

Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban not helped their causa.Después Alabama guiding to a perfect 12-0 record of losing Florida 31-20 in the SEC Championship playoff Saban announced to the world that his club remained the only team to have an undefeated regular season in a "BCS Conference".

The State of Utah Utes entered into Sugar Bowl with nation's 12 - 0, unbeaten record took aggrieved in observation of Saban and proceeded to draw players to Saban, who were not willing to win Sugar Bowl against Utah.

As the legendary Lou Holtz, Utah is not nearly as good as the Miró Utes in the Sugar Bowl, and not nearly as bad as the Crimson Tide waits in the Sugar Bowl. The Utes were totally focused and the Crimson Tide had any approach to all, as evidenced by the 3 Quick touchdowns scored Utah to run a quarter 1 21 - 0 advantage.

A sack of drop-down 3rd High quarterback John Parker Wilson first possession of Alabama Utah gave the ball and senior quarterback Ute Brian Johnson completed 5 consecutive for 19, 14, 22, 7 and 7 yards passes as annotated by Alabama Utah could turn around and enter the right coverage.

The second inauguration Alabama, John Parker Wilson promptly (always sounds more important with 3 names) threw an interception and Utah had the ball in ' 32 yards of center line. The Utes wasted no time scoring once again take up to 14-0.

3Rd bag in the second holds third Alabama Utah gave back the ball and Johnson led to his Utes' down the field and found high wide receiver Bradon Godfrey in an 18-yard touchdown toss making Utah 21-zip with more time to play in the first quarter.

At this point, began to dawn on some of the Crimson Tide powerful players needing to stop disgruntled by his loss to Florida or the final result could end up 84 - 0.Utah had no such lapse in mental attitude. The Utes were in his game as a honey bee, and everything was sweet tasting as Utah éxito.Defensa registered 8 sacks and 2 interceptions. Ute offensive would be cut off and given to the defence of Crimson Tide as a demonstration of the Blender by confusion at the county fair.

While Alabama would begin counterattack with 17 points without reply, making it the 21-17 early in the second half (probably after of a great rest or a language whipping by coach Nick Saban speech), there was not really fight in ' Center from the start.

In a word or three, forget John Parker Wilson, who was not for Utah Brian Johnson.Johnson completed 27 of 41 for 336 yards and 2 touchdowns with zero interceptions. Johnson was named most valuable player and ended his career as a quarterback plus winners of Utah (26-7 as the holder) .Senior wide receiver Freddie Brown caught 12 of 27 Johnson passes for 125 yards.

None of the teams had a running game.Alabama came into the game with an average of 196 + yards on the ground, but the Utes stopped dead in their tracks by limiting the Crimson Tide to 31 yards on 33 carries (which is what will do 8 bags for you).To say that the Utes dominated on both sides of the line would be an understatement.

But enough about what Alabama did not. Utah deserves high praise. I've been a fan of Alabama football since the days of glory Bear Bryant, Willie Joe Namath and Kenny "The Snake" Stabler.Dicho this, it is doubtful whether Alabama would have won the Sugar Bowl while the Crimson Tide were at stake; Utah hopes that good.

It is not difficult for me to understand why Alabama was favoured by 10.5 points in this partido.La tide played 5 in AP Top 25 teams and defeated them 4 of arriving in the Sugar Bowl.Utah played and beat the Top 25 2 computers.Strength of programming was much harder than the State of Utah. This does not mean that Utah was not a great team; it simply means that many voters in the survey and football fans know not only how great.

In Alabama sample into a hole clay Tuscaloosa, Utah made history by becoming the first team in a non-BCS Conference to win 2 BCS bowl. The Utes games headed to Pittsburgh in 2005 Fiesta Bowl under urban Meyer before Meyer became head coach of the Gators Florida.Utah was left out of the BCS National Championship game on perennial powers, Oklahoma and Florida.

Florida won 24-14 in Oklahoma to be finally declared the national champion 2008.No there is no arguing about this; any team won the BCS National Championship game is the national champion, period.

Utah coach Kyle Whittingham, QB Brian Johnson and the rest of the Utes were left wondering, "what more have to prove?"

Utah even lost the first position in the AP Top 25 Poll final as Florida was declared no. 1 and no. 2 in Utah.Utah received 18 first place votes but could not overcome 48 first Florida votes. The drumbeat of a national championship playoff series grows more strong each year the BCS system is in place. An honor came to Kyle Whittingham as it was named coach of the year of the BCS for the American football coaches Association.
