Alabama football: game against Mississippi much different than the last year of the situation today

Tide vs. rebels not as important as 2009

By MICHAEL CASAGRANDE

Special Ledger-Enquirer

TUSCALOOSA, wing.-a year ago, this was a game that was presented as the game title SEC West de facto.

Mississippi was the darling of pre-season and everyone is the best bet to beat Alabama on the throne and steal your ticket to the game title sec

This not happened. The Crimson Tide delivered the rebels their second defeat of the season in October, and the rest of the story is pretty well known.

Now the two are set to renew rivalry 2010, but they face different circunstancias.Alabama held the eighth (6-1, 2-1 SEC) is seeking to restart a streak winner of having its 19 chain adjusts a week ago in South Carolina, while that Mississippi (3-2, 1-1) is emerging from a renewed optimism and bye week after a couple of embarrassing losses that opened the year.

Jacksonville State, a member of the football championship branch does not leave Oxford with a victory.Vanderbilt is lower feeder SEC.

Both did.

So when the rebels needed a spark, power came closer offense which found their foot in their last two outings.Scoring a combined 97 points against Fresno State and Kentucky, new quarterback Jeremiah Masoli is finding its way from Oregon transfer during the summer.

"" I feel that we have made great progress, said Mississippi coach Houston Nutt."I hope that we could begin hoy.Nos we have gotten mejores.Nos returned to the basis and again the little things right. You can never have it assumes.

“…I think that the chemistry between Masoli and the team has always been there. He is a boy that we didn't have that preocuparse.Ha won their way through hard work and the tremendous attitude."He wants to please and encajan.Él is a figure."

Far from the height of Pocket passer Jevan Snead carried the burden of the last season, Masoli is smaller, faster and much more of a threat to take off.

To prepare for Alabama rapid real rookie Blake Sims played the role of the new quarterback rebel scout team.

"" (Sims) broke me (Tuesday) once or twice, "said Nico Johnson linebacker.""Having athletes as Blake makes a difference real.Disponer scout team to carry out that function in practice, it should be easier in the juego.Nos we must use it for playing time."

Ball security has been a problem for the rebels that rank last in the SEC in turnover margin (3) while the tide is in the forefront (+ 7). final output Masoli against Kentucky was the first in Mississippi without an interception.

It was also his day only sub-100-yard of year on the ground, has three triple-figure games, including their past two with 228 yards in 19 leading against Fresno State and 108 in 23 attempts against the Wildcats.

The rebels also have leader corridor in the third part of the SEC in Brandon Bolden, who has an average of 103,6 yards per game.

""He is a good runner and a good boy, Alabama coach Nick Saban said of the 5-foot-11, 215-pound Bolden. ""He has good instincts and vision as a stockbroker... and has an unrelenting competitive attitude".
