[UPDATED] Compliance with rules of Alabama Department complaints against Brent Calloway

If you're like me probably took the statements of Jeffrey Lee, a writer Rivals.com for Auburn, on mobile radio from the beginning of this week about the recruitment of signed Brent Calloway of tide with a huge grain of salt.  Let us be realistic, the boy did nothing but shot to allegations of some sinister events with no evidence or even the will present his own reputation on the line, insisting that he not informed as news but "allegations are out there".  In addition to discredit him, introduced a follow-up of the interview the next day, releasing this statement:

"Due to an enormous amount of additional information AuburnSports.com has been received in the last 24 hours, not we're planning updates today as we sort through the details." It will not conduct any interviews including the previously scheduled with WNSP in Mobile. "We are firmly behind our sources of this and I would like to thank our members for their understanding and patience as this story continues to develop"

As team of speed kills so succinctly, "I can not think of but that some of this additional information came from a lawyer or twelve".  We honestly still not have bothered commenting here because, well, it seemed to talk about both board/message nonsense radio that not even dignify a response and the solo fanshot on that produces the kind of comments that deserve; mocking contempt.  Fortunately we have an athletic department that takes more seriously the things we do.  Compliance with rules of the AU staff is considering the allegations and has already carried out interviews:

Officials of the Department's compliance with rules of AU interviewed Calloway, Russellville resident Darren Woodruff, officials of the Bank in the first Bank of Metro and Calloway adopted father, Harland Lindsey Winston, known as "Peaches."

At issue are allegations tomorrow rival Auburn reporter Thursday Jeffrey Lee WSNP mobile radio station. Accusations about Lee, who were a supporter of Alabama, later identified as Woodruff, Winston paid $2,500 for Calloway commit to Alabama, as well as providing Calloway a new car. Lee also alleged that Woodruff brought Calloway of the school in the days leading up to signing day, take it on a trip to Florida.

Nothing came much that beyond the rate of refusals and declarations "are sure to get the truth with" one can expect of the family and the parties involved, but the fact that compliance staff heard the allegations and immediately began to take action should at least that make us feel very comfortable Alabama is taking this seriously and wants to make sure that there is no way in can damage the program of the school or football.  Of the eye that of contrasts quite a different program that I can think of recently ran to each roof could find to proclaim the innocence of his star player before clamming days later, TV camera and microphone and giving the allegations even more legs in public.  Much as I personally tend to ignore this whole story up something more important that the rumor mongering of sports talk radio get in it, is good to know that the Athletic Department is not and is doing things the right way.

Update: through Aaron Suttles, "exclusive TideSports.com: UA not found no violations in the recruitment of Calloway."  Of course, history is behind the wall of pay now, so we will only have to take his word....

Shocker: UA compliance not found no violations in the recruitment of Brent Calloway

With such legitimate accusations and, without doubt, supported by indisputable facts, it is not surprising that she had au pursuant to 18 hours to completely discredit the latest rumors of Brent Calloway. For even more biased, without reservation, traditional news media hack statewide:

On Friday, compliance with rules of Alabama officials were on the ground in Russellville, where Calloway is finishing his senior year of high school, to interview people close to him.

By Saturday, according to a source close to the situation, Alabama research had determined that, at this point, school has not found any reason to self-report any violations in the recruitment of Calloway and does not expect any such reason to the surface.

Great relief, eh people? Step back from the ledge can now and carry on their normal routine. I know that everyone will have to reconsider our view of the world, now that a rumor of board message glorified Auburn on alleged deceptive practices of Alabama did not come to fruition, but still can now do it with peace and peace of mindno, the death penalty is not in fact way of Tuscaloosa. Surprisingly, it turns out that Auburn graduate who lives to convince really dumb people to pay you to tell them what they want to hear - get tickets when he is not secondary in erotic literature, anyway - something was wrong.

In all seriousness, however, this must be the result of the final expected here. Even if you assume that we are paying players, what we never it pay Brent Calloway? Frankly, unless Calloway gets seriously to the defensive side of the ball and set aside the idea of playing tailback - something that is certain to never happen, that I am not convinced that there should be even signed, much less pay to sign. Do if you want to say that someone like Julio Jones, we pay quite fair, that is at least a viable possibility its capacity of crude oil and its expected production level, but a guy like Brent Calloway? It gives me a jump.

In addition, personally I think all these highly insulting allegations. We have heard for decades now on how to control the New York Times, ESPN, the media in the State, and how the supposedly free world really only operates in el capricho and the direction of the recording. Do and now allegedly paid the bashful boy for $2,500? What, his kid sister needed keys? The car of his mother needed a new intake manifold? Does he had that end up paying for their high-level trip to Cancun? In the hell is Cadillac Escalade with 22-inch wheels, the stereo system for $15,000 and the Briefcase of $200,000 in unmarked bills full? This is what our empire once evil has been apparently to? I mean, good pain, even if we bombed this kind of money you each month, his family could still fuck next qualify for Medicaid. What type of payment transaction to play nickel-and - tell me is this? What happened to our vast financial resources pay to play? It have Bernie Madoff control how the endowment of the University was reversed? In any case, based on this sounds like we need a Fed bailout plan to get back to our costs of pay to play up to the level of a living wage to our players.

Or not, really enjoy all the conspiracy ' Bama discussion controls - in the world, but at least give us credit for doing so, not this nonsense to penny. Do you want to vilify my University? Very well, but at least the common to build not only as the equivalent of Pablo Escobar, courtesy some low-life, level of entry itinerant street in centre of the city of Birmingham to get it done a $20 Bill at a time. Personally, I think that only some of the conspiracy theorists are losing their touch.

Alabama football recruiting: Brent Calloway said that he had received death threats by change of the commitment of the red tide to Auburn

It is mid-June 2009 when Brent Calloway gave his word to Alabama coach Nick Saban.

It was going to play for the red tide a day.

There were only two more seasons of high school to wrap in Russellville, when he would head to Tuscaloosa.

Two years it, it is a long time to stay committed to school when the staff never ends. Calloway, a perspective of five stars according to Rivals.com, officially changed opinion 18 months after making the initial decision when he announced on Saturday that intends to play to Auburn instead.

As recently as December, Calloway said the TimesDaily in Florence (Alabama) its commitment to Alabama is solid. The reaction to his change of heart was far from positive and they came from all directions.

After announcing its new decision live on national television during U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday, negativity came Calloway address through social networking sites.

"I have things saying they expect that interrupt my legs", Calloway said The TimesDaily. "I had death threats." They expect that I lose my scholarship. A lot of crazy things. The list goes on and en. Nothing is official until February 2 when high school can sign the documents of the scholarship.

Calloway situation is not unique.

Offensive lineman Spencer Cullman, Alabama region also share a commitment of Alabama for one to Auburn last February. Then reopened again their recruitment and has yet to make another announcement about its future.
