Running games new absent

By Michael Casagrande

Special Ledger-Enquirer

Mary Ann Chastain/Associated Press Alabama Greg McElory is sacked by South Carolina Melvin Ingram during the fourth quarter of Saturday's game.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - statistically efficient but cold clutch, Alabama offense suffered approximately 35-21 Saturday in South Carolina loss body blows.

To a defence of Gamecock that load box to pause execution, tide replied with a rapid pace game that was based on the wide receiver screens that tested the edges.

But, as it did last season, dry when it came to the red zone, gas tank scoring only one touchdown four trips as the pressure of the South Carolina affected quarterback Greg McElroy at crucial moments.

Forced to run 12 times, McElroy was sacked seven times and rushed on four occasions.

"I think that (McElroy) does not handle the actual pressure well sometimes, but I think Greg did a good job there", said coach Nick Saban."Got us in the works of the rights."

The upper fifth year yet completed 27 34 attempts for 315 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions.

But the real story was the relative absence of a game of the week second straight running in an offense which performs "sporadic", said of Saban.

Announced combining Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson combined for only 63 yards as insured Gamecocks that does not repeat the meeting of the previous season. There was no repetition of explosion of 246 yards of Ingram which catapulted his name on the account of Heisman Trophy.

But for a second straight game 50 yards, his shot in a replay juvenile fades quickly.

""We just had to play physical,"Gamecock cornerback Stephon Gilmore said.""Have an offense pretty simple.Sabíamos we had hacer.Auburn was a bit more confusing, but Alabama plays a simple offense".

For tide, there was a lot of confusion to play through Saturday afternoon.

Defence of South Carolina not throw anything at Alabama.Acaba run better, said Saban.

McElroy, however, saw some wrinkles.

"" We had a great week of study and felt commanded ", he said.""I felt as I had a good forecast what you were going to hacer.Por unfortunately make it a great trabajo.Mezclan and matching hedges, was against his tendencies gradually, who were ready to play and not."

Alabama football: bye week good time for Crimson Tide report card

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama: Here we are, nine Saturday College football and without an Alabama game for the first time that all fall season.

With seven wins, a loss and some organs above struck to rest, time out of competition, undoubtedly, was well received in Tuscaloosa.

By who with the Crimson Tide enjoying their bye week day before Nick Saban celebrates its birthday 59 Sunday, let's look at what went right and what went wrong for Alabama in his quest to repeat as national champions of BCS.

The positive

Objective of the tide of increased glass football again in January isn't muerto.Ganar and remains the possibility.

Although imperfect, the first eight games have shown Alabama fans progress is possible and young players can ripen when forced into larger roles.

Defensively, only two teams in the country allow fewer points, and 12.5 by surrenders Alabama games leads the League by a healthy margin.

More and nine turnover margin also leads to the SEC and occupies the ninth nationwide as boot freshman Robert Lester is linked to the head of the Conference with five interceptions.

Offensively, limit errors is a calling card again.Greg McElroy has not thrown an interception attempts to 121, dating for a few games, the adjusted offense Arkansas.Estancada victory back to his old car at a 28 second half in Tennessee which quickly became a defeat with Julius Jones, Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson producing large numbers in the wider margin of victory for a team of Alabama who plays at Neyland Stadium.

Negative

Carolina South 35, 21 Alabama.

19-Game streak came to stop Colombia when the Gamecocks threw the defence of tide which could not force lost ball. with it, the express lane to Glendale, Arizona.and the BCS National Championship closed the game.

It will take some help, and end with impeccable in four games back into consideration.

To do this, Alabama will have to play more like defending the last two weeks and not three anteriores.Sin doubt, only South Carolina scored many points, but the defence pass much had holes in which opposing offenses are space to work within.

If it wasn't for forced Alabama rojo-zona turnover total loss could be more than one.

The game runtime also struck a piece of Ice Racing for only 136 yards against South Carolina and Mississippi is combined with defenses is committed to detenerlo.Se is equality against the Vols after McElroy and Jones did pay with passage of major works.

Starts slow defensive also had plagued the tide against Arkansas, Florida and South Carolina, although the Gamecocks were the only ones that can translate into a victory.

The final stretch

Don't get anything but easy for Alabama with three teams ranked left on the stretch of four games to end the regular season.

Includes Auburn: your computer does not.1 the classification of BCS in what could be the most anticipated Bowl iron in generations.

It will lose to LSU, Mississippi State (or State of Georgia) and the West Division title not be line Friday after Thanksgiving.

Conclusion: the fun is yet to venir.Nada has been determined, but no chance has been eliminated.

By this, tide relax in the calm before of the storm that refires next Saturday in Baton Rouge.

When it is your best, Alabama mixes execution and pass with success.Everything is developed from a mainland game despite the fact that one of you on average one hefty 183.6 yards per game in 5.2 yards per carry.Certainly helps to have a lethal blow of one-two in the backfield with both second Trent Richardson (6.6 ypc, four members) and the reigning Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram (6.4 ypc, six members) get the job.

The constant ground assault has opened things for QB Greg McElroy, who has played pretty well in 2010, completing 71.6% of his passes for 1,517 yards, with 11 members and only three enteros.Wideouts Julio Jones (33 receptions, 448 yards, three members), Dario Hanks (17 receptions for 289 yards, two deputies) and Marquis Maze (17 receptions, for 241 yards, a Deputy) provide McElroy with lot of options in the field.

Playing time, however, is a problem.

Racing Alabama jumped three times more on Saturday against Mississippi to run its full season 14. Last year, the tide was guilty of the offence only five times.

Two flags which starts Saturday belonged to defensive end Marcell Dareus, although one left something extra.

Alabama football: tide works over bumps and bruises

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama, taking a look at the back of his left hand, Greg McElroy could not say with certainty whether the red spots were clear marks. Pain, however, was not no joke for Alabama is practically not only delayed category one and one and hematoma quarterback.

Seven weeks in the season with even more to play before it reaches the bye week the Crimson Tide ranked seventh (6-1, 3-1 SEC) feels the effects of playing an SEC schedule stepped brutal.Y not throwing hand which was inadvertently McElroy on early against Ole Miss Saturday only scraped the surface of scolding Trac issues at 7 p.m. Saturday visit to Tennessee (2-4, 0-3).

Linebacker Courtney Upshaw, D.J. Fluker offensive lineman and cornerbacks DeQuan Menzie (high Carver) and DeMarcus Hatter were limited way in Monday's practice of being wounded in a game against Ole Miss this exceptionally physical called coach Nick Saban.

None of the injuries were "sensitive", Saban said, "most guys only bruised, dinged... above, what should be able to go (today)."

Some other notable practice with persistent lesions that have not been able to cure completely.

This includes defensive end Marcell Dareus practiced on Monday with a heavy lifting tape on his left ankle ass that forced the game OLE Miss briefly.

Good mood on Monday afternoon, Dareus responded to comments Saban made after the game that dealt with players remain on the ground with injuries but returned shortly after.

Dareus "in his day, he would sound as they were robots," he said with a smile. ' "?"I did not say when hurt my ankle in game of Arkansas, he said, ' I would never sitting there outside in the field."

Said, 'broke me my leg in three places, and stood still and ran out of the field'."I said, 'OK'. If breaks my leg in three places, might as well put a stretcher."

Legs receiver Julio Jones' are good, but his left hand was a consistent problem against Ole Miss.

A week of play through the broken hand in South Carolina, Jones suffered a setback in the first quarter.

Reaching a McElroy, the ball pass doubling the index finger on his left hand rotates and stretches points suture had to put a plate and screws in hand surgery.

"" Was one of those things when the ball hit (his index finger) ", said Saban."…"Really wasn't created problema.Ha a small nuisance to him at the time and we re-x - rayed him was OK to go back in the game, but we decided to only we were ahead in the game and had hoped to get you ready to play this week".

You have relatively late bye week for second consecutive year, Saban decided to give the team two days last week to heal before playing OLE same Miss.Lo made last year in the trip on October 3 to Kentucky and on both occasions, the team was not as strong as you would like to be in game day after cancellation of Monday practice.

"" I believe that we should have gone ahead and do what we are supposed to do, "said Dareus.""Next week bye and we can fight it until then".

Alabama football: Defense Center plays best in victory over OLE Miss

TUSCALOOSA, Alabama: Alabama defense gained a measure of redemption.

The Crimson Tide occupied the seventh suddenly not re-enter dominant games or opposing defenses overwhelming after finally lose a game, but the defense was aggressive and game pass only sufficiently effective.

The result was a 23-10 Professional on Mississippi victory Saturday night.

Defence of tide set the tone early by swarm Jeremiah Masoli & co a week after getting illuminated by 35 points by Carolina of the Sur.Alabama (6-1, 3-1 SEC) allowed only for 7 yards of first three units of OLE Miss and 41 yards in the opening half.

"" I'm actually very excited about how our defense played, "Alabama tight end said Preston dial.""Led to us".

For ' Center, fearing a slump, fans was probably the most encouraging sign of the game. The tide had left 315 yards against the Gamecocks a week earlier to help send a 19-game streak crashing to a halt.

OLE Miss (3-2, 1 - 2) not score a touchdown until late in the third quarter and first half only points the team of came it with a goal of field created by a punt from return.

Alabama defense registers 10 haste against Masoli, which broke six passes and had six tackles for loss with a pair of sacks. Brandon Bolden, corridor No. 3 sec coming, managed only 32 yards on 10 carries.

Masoli held 18 40 through 110 yards with a touchdown and an interception. also ran for 40 yards, much of their entry into a final 26-yards than setting the lone touchdown and final outcome of the game.

A few minutes before, Alabama Trent Richardson had taken a screen pass 85 yards for a touchdown provide a comfortable margin.

He was one of the few major breakdowns for the defense of OLE Miss.

"" The defence arose great moments,"said rebel coach Houston Nutt."Maintained excellent exercise and swarming excellent. We've talked about the front of the banda. No Ingram (mark), a winner of the Heisman Trophy and Trent Richardson can be addressed.Cannot make them face to face.

"You have to get people there.""You have to gather around football in gangs, and our kids what hizo.Persiguieron the ball extremely hard."

Rebels employ the same formula that contains Richardson and Ingram and forcing the Gamecocks quarterback Greg McElroy to win in the aire.En mostly worked.

The two backs combine to 105 yardas.McElroy passed 219 yards and two touchdowns, but was sacked four times a week to go in the backfield seven times.

"" We really struggled against these guys for three years in a row offensively, "said coach Nick Saban tide."Practically take run away and make difficult run.

"You have to run the game paso.A times did, and sometimes we do not."

Errors of OLE Miss helped first abundantemente.La covered Alabama drive a heavy 46 yards in 11 plays and initially stalled, but the rebels were marked for roughing the kicker: one of 12 sanciones.Y McElroy responded with a 7-yard touchdown pass to the marking of Preston.

By contrast, the defence of the Alabama stuck when the rebels took at age 21 Alabama after a fumble return man Marquis Maze.Ole Miss had become a fourth-and-1 but still had to settle for a short Bryson Rose field goal.

Tide defensive end Marcell Dareus, who played with a gimpy left ankle, thinks defensive performance was a beginning, but that is all.

"I believe that we are not really quite there," Dareus, said.

We have plenty of room to improve."

Richardson's decision-making was slightly more positive.

"" We needed a game like this,"said Richardson.""We had a minor setback, and we needed to come back big after loss".

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Facing an unfamiliar situation, Alabama turned to an old friend.

Playing a week after a loss for the first time since 2007, the Crimson Tide dusted off its defense just when it faced its greatest questions.

No, there wasn’t much bend in the Alabama front on homecoming night.

Riding the dependable-again defense and a streaky offense, the Tide turned away Ole Miss 23-10 in a late-night special kicked off at 9:15 p.m. to accommodate ESPN2. By the time it ended, the sold-out crowd thinned considerably, but the fireworks ended well before that.

The Rebels, owners of SEC’s highest scoring offense entering Saturday averaging 37.2 points a game, were held at bay most of the night as the Tide defense rediscovered the fundamentals that failed a week earlier in a two-touchdown loss at South Carolina.

Allowing just one touchdown, after surrendering five a week earlier, Alabama’s defense played a more physical brand than it did a week ago in Columbia.

Offensively, the Tide (6-1, 3-1 SEC) had issues running the ball for the third straight week with the physical Rebel front plugging running lanes for Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson. The pair ran for 95 yards with the returning Heisman Trophy winner going for 60 yards on 16 carries and Richardson running for 45 on 11 attempts.

And with Julio Jones making just a brief appearance early playing with a broken left hand, it was up to the supporting cast of receivers to fill the void.

But it was a Richardson catch that helped break the game open.

Facing a third-and-13 from its own 15, the sophomore running back caught what appeared to be a harmless screen pass to give punter Cody Mandell some extra room to operate. Richardson had other plans, though.

He darted through would-be tacklers then outran defensive backs for the 85-yard touchdown reception that put the Tide up 23-3 midway through the third quarter.

Other than that, Alabama’s offense was hit or miss.

Quarterback Greg McElroy put up respectable numbers with 17 completions in 25 attempts for 219 yards. Sacks, though, were a carryover issue from the South Carolina game.

The Tide quarterback was taken down four times behind the line after taking seven sacks against the Gamecocks. He threw successfully to eight different receivers, but the Alabama offense lacked rhythm most of the night.

But the story was Alabama’s handling of Rebel quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, the transfer from Oregon who was starting to hit his stride with Ole Miss.

It quickly became clear Saturday night that he wasn’t going to be the star of the show. Alabama limited the Rebel offense to seven yards combined in its first three possessions that all ended in punts.

By halftime, Masoli had completed just 3-of-12 passes for 14 yards and ran six times for negative-3 yards.

Ole Miss, though, found some footing in the second half. It marched 74 plays in 10 plays in a drive that had shades of a crucial third-quarter drive Alabama surrendered a week ago at South Carolina. The Rebels (3-3, 1-2 SEC) converted three third-downs including the third-and-7 touchdown pass from Masoli to Melvin Harris with 4:40 to play in the third to cut the lead to 13 points.

Masoli finished with 17 completions in 39 attempts for 102 yards and 38 rushing yards on 10 carries. He was sacked twice and pressured on 10 other occasions by the defense led by Mark Barron and Dre Kirkpatrick who had seven tackles apiece. Barron added a fourth-quarter interception to top off his night.

Alabama football: defensive lineman Mississippi Jerrell Powell criticizes Crimson Tide

TUSCALOOSA, wing., Jerrell Powe must have had a look at the offense of Alabama.

Then, on Monday afternoon, the defensive lineman Mississippi presented his findings to reporters in Oxford.

"I think that you got exposed," he said."Demonstrated that only a unidimensional.corren team are very well the ball.""I think South Carolina did a good job of stopping execution, and really could not get anything goes once they left".

Referencing the then fights better classified Crimson Tide in loss of 35-21 Saturday at Columbia, S.C, the Powe headlines observations, but apparently not Bulletin Board within Alabama football complejas.jugadores said they were not familiar with criticisms from the computer that will face at 9 p.m. Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

But was accurate?

Total 351 offensive yards of the tide, Saturday 89.7% came via air.

And if it is a question of why the tide went away from the game runtime in the effort to return, Nick Saban is a rapid response.Circumstances led the play call throw the ball rather than delivered by Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson.

"When the game goes as the game and you will get behind 21-3, what is the priority?"? Saban said. "Is to get these guys your scree, or is trying to go back in the game? when you arrive after 21-3 is trying to go back in the game, or are trying to make sure mark (Ingram) and Trent (Richardson) will get their scree?"What is the priority? For me, is back in the juego.A times the game determines "."

Soon it became a factor, Ingram and Richardson had moderate success running the ball, but not close to their normal production.Ingram averaged 3.7 yards per race, Richardson was 3.8 - downstream of their respective 7.1 season averages and 7.0 with the defence of the Gamecocks embedding in execution the hosts also played with the physicality lacked in 2009, when Ingram aroused his Heisman campaign by South Carolina gashing for 246 yards.

The recession in rushing yardage began a few weeks ago.Of running during a high season on September 18 at Duke 315 yards, the Yardage has slipped every week.Against a much better defence in Arkansas, the total was up 227, then to 170 against Florida.

A week before Alabama compensate only 36 yards in Columbia, a set of different circumstances had limited number of yards rushing the tide against the Gators.Florida also attempted to move the box, but Alabama offense actually stayed out of the field in the second half as Florida gather a few long possessions but without success.

To a similar deficit against Arkansas, tide uses balance than did it in the Sur.Las Carolina two early second half together Alabama drives from falling behind the Razorbacks 20-7, pass execution ratio was from 9 to 25.

Columbia, Ingram got the ball in the only four races scheduled for the second half, with three coming in the first four played four scree of entretiempo.Esos compensate for 23 yards, but when five McElroy sacks were taken into account, the tide ran for a negative-1 playground of halftime.

"" I don't think that it puts much pressure on me,"said McElroy.""I think that being in that situation, we tried to throw the ball a little more and had some success through the aire.Sabemos we take when we get down in the red zone, and we have to limit errors when we get there simply decepcionante. No también.Es I can say that enough word."

The relationship between 36-a-315 rushing yards is unmistakable.

It is a far cry from symmetry, the Panel found against the State of Pennsylvania, Duke and Arkansas.La difference between pass and never equal total yards from more than 49 yards with most balance against Duke (315 yards rushing, passing 211).

Hassle programming

Kent State eventually stepped up, but Purdue now says the Mid-American Conference school pulled the same trick on them.

Lafayette (IND.) and Courier Journal reported Thursday that alma mater of Saban is paying Purdue in acquisition of $425.000 trade clause to the Boilermakers tide.

""This is a new, having someone to opt for a contract of more than 10 months before a party,"director of Athletics Purdue Morgan Burke said in a statement in writing.""Surprise me personally due to the positive relationship Purdue and Kent State have had over the years."

Still kicking himself

It will be that Lowery has been a shining example of a walk-on who worked their way in a leading role in the defense of Alabama this year.

It was fourth game courtyard Poole.Florida evolve and UAB had 23 yards this season.

41-Game streak dates back to October 13, 2007, when Mississippi running back BenJarvus green-Ellis was for 131 yards.

Earlier in the season, Trent Richardson adjusted Penn State of 17 games straight chain individual backs of exploitation in double figures.

Helmet to helmet

Had only two plays, the Saturday night for a cringe worthy casco-a - helmet hit to silence the crowd of Neyland Stadium.

Denarius Moore came to an end around on the left side of the defence of Alabama, where expected freshman cornerback DeMarcus Hatter.

Moore slipped just before it arrived sombrereros, leader with his helmet to create the violent collision that left Tennessee receiver on the lawn for several minutes before returning to the sideline.

Moore did not return to the game.

Of a result, the majority of the fleet moved downstream in Chattanooga.

McCullough starts again

With still marginalized by suffering groin injury D.J. Fluker two weeks ago in South Carolina, Alfred McCullough won its second straight start right offensive tackle.

Fluker, "" redshirt freshman, made significant improvements in practice last week, but still it was "highly questionable" considered by Saban to play against Tennessee.

McCullough was appointed co-offensive in his first departure from the race week player a week ago against Mississippi.

Before the party, Kerry Murphy was announced as Damion Square instead of defensive end.

Slow start on the road

Last three SEC road games started disastrously in defence of the Tennessee marea.Contra almost prevented it.

Almost.

After celebrating the Vols to a three-and-out on his initial possession, Tennessee was 87 yards on four plays in his second touch to take an advantage of 7-0. 59 Poole-yard touchdown run provides most of the pop and everything but first quarter 20 yards Tennessee.

Alabama football: live at the edge finally caught up with Crimson Tide

COLUMBIA, S.C.: It was bound to happen and did it on Saturday.

Daredevil spirit finally caught with the Alabama Crimson Tide.Nunca was packed this time never opened the parachute and the reserve.

Ultimately, South Carolina to Alabama'd Alabama leaving the tide with a loss of 35-21 and some work to do if there is any hope of a rematch of December at the Dome Georgia.

And suddenly, Alabama is the highest ranked team in the State where two-thirds of surveys that make up the equation BCS came out on Sunday afternoon.

End game Auburn plays with destination have yet to produce a negative result, so the chances of an iconic Iron Bowl are a real possibility come Thanksgiving.

Before in any of them, however, Alabama must have a look in the mirror after the sábado. No streak-snapper, there was no puzzle in the third, fourth quarter or thefts of Robert Lester who could steal livestock or reverse drive the fate to which Steve Spurrier win attributed part of the Gamecock.

Of course, football is a complex game, but tangible reasons results are fairly simple.

Alabama could not continue delivering the kind of Arkansas yardage and Florida Pile and expected to keep on truckin'.

There is no earthly way can continue forcing rojo-zona which prevented the opponents five previous scoring only two touchdowns in 14 previous travel yard 20.SEC offenses are not only systematically as clumsy as Florida and Arkansas were in clutch turnover.

His supposedly defenseless quarterback Stephen Garcia orchestrated transparent units against the nation above better classified scoring defense and five touchdowns in South Carolina eclipsed the total three had allowed to Alabama in the first five games combined as the Gamecocks.

Offensively, the deficit led guide outside pages running plays as Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson became blockers and dump down options.

And when Greg McElroy launched almost anything apart from a screen or a check down, receivers continued separation of finding lucha.Que, in turn, led to some of sacks of seven who left road white jersey of covered with grass stains McElroy.

The quarterback would be too in the hook for some sacks and presiones.Aferrándose too long losses and having to launch in seven rows seat was an option that keeps their respectable numbers, but sometimes dug deeper hole.

South Carolina responded by Crimson Tide football.

The Gamecocks were intended to be the most physical computer in the field (with success), forcing crucial ball losses (see Q2 the McElroy fumble that became a touchdown SC) and kept feeding the ball to the playmakers (Marcus Lattimore and Alshon Jeffery combined to score all five touchdowns and represent 76% Gamecock shipyard).

Meanwhile, Ingram and Richardson ran for 64 combined yards as the courtyard yards rushing netted Tide-1 in the second half mainly due to five sacks of McElroy in last 30 minutes.

Apparently easy victory over Florida a week earlier only seems reinforce perceived invincibility Alabama led to each game.

It is not the case, told the South Carolina and Ingram.

"" Lost, is terrible ", said the reigning Heisman Trophy winner."If you are a great competitor and I love to compete loser is nothing what ever wants experimentar.definitivamente is not acceptable in this program, but sometimes it is something that has to deal with.

"Cannot display and win just because you are Alabama, simply because you're not.""1."

By GUERRY CLEGG

Special Ledger-Enquirer

AUBURN, wing. CAM Newton jumped above of the brick wall than the southern, stands triumphantly blanca.La towel waving Auburn student section of vertigo, immerse yourself in the joy of victory over Arkansas - bathed of his hero with applause Tigers 65-43 well merecidos.Un fan held a sign that speaks to the Auburn - family, and perhaps, for a growing number of college football fans.

"Newton Scootin' cam for Heisman"

Disassembled Newton and limits their way to the dressing room of the Tigers, broke a thunderous chorus of students.

"HEIs-MAN!""HEIs-MAN! Hais-MAN!"

Newton's output in the womb of Jordan-Hare stadium was just to tiempo.Véase, about the only thing that seems to reach Newton these days is any individual accolades.

"Not just me", he told CBS Tracy Wolfson. "I am an individual blessed with a blessed team".

Wolfson asked then inevitable with regard to their chances of Heisman Trophy.

"We're only in game 7," said Newton."We have a lot left of football".

Newton is preposterously correcta.Es soon to start leveled in the field. The Heisman is not a race.It is an award for a complete body of work. But it is not too early to recognize the body of work - Newton and his candidacy.

Newton came into Saturday's game with the second best passer in the country, Kellen Moore at the end of the Boise State.188 Yards Saturday pushed his total season to 860, which already occupies the sixth best from the quarterbacks sec all-time.You need only 36 yards to overcome Tim Tebow 895 yards total in 2007.True, was only the second Tebow better season total.Pero which was also the year that Tebow won the Heisman Trophy.

Comparison to Tebow was raised, as more Heisman trophy was talk.

What "the Heisman Trophy"? that can pull out the window."Comparison of Tebow, may consider any day." "Newton said."Tebow s an excellent player, a great leader, a great person. Therefore to be compared with someone well.It may tenerlo.Pero we are two different players, two different people."Tebow is Tim Tebow, and I am only Cam Newton."

Only Cam Newton?

Just Cam Newton?

Newton's humility is genuine.Topics only that you will know come you from others. But every week brings more witnesses.

Arkansas Coach Bobby Petrine: "even when there are boys, break tackles.""Is also large and fast and you can actually run the ball. is only a player really good".

As one who played quarterback, Kodi Burns has a particular appreciation by Newton. They were competing perspectives on school secundaria.Burns saw how good Newton was a high school all-star game.

"That seems natural to me because that is what makes," said Burns."As a defensive coordinator, you have to have nightmares playing le.Piensas you have everything covered, and he gets away."

Wes Byrum, Auburn, kicker Gets a field-level view: "He does some things that just drop jaw".

Chizik wondered if there was a better player in the country.

"" Not have the opportunity to see everyone in America,"said."But I can tell you this: do not.2 is a football player espectacular.Yo am not one to go out on a limb, but everyone in the world as ve.Es not as anyone say anything nuevo.Él is a competidor.Quiere ball. is humilde.Él keeps working, and gives us a chance to win every week.

No player in America means more to his team than Newton.Los Tigers are now 7-0 and starting to push their way to the Championship picture nacional.Una again, there is a long way to recorrer.Los Tigers still have games against the undefeated LSU Georgia resurgence and arch rival Alabama.

Where would Auburn without Newton? what maybe this question can be answered with another: where is now without Tebow?

A failed theatre and a sack play later, Alabama were lined up for what would have been a 43-yard field goal, but an unsuccessful attempt faux finished with pass holder AJ McCarron bounce out of the hands of linebacker Ed Stinson.

It was all downhill from there by the tide.

Receiver Gamecocks Alshon Jeffery, who Saban praised all week, stranded in the last of their master seven traps in a pass well championed by Dre Kirkpatrick.La work established third touchdown from Marcus Lattimore day 7: 01 42 yards to play.

""We probably don't do a good call on counterfeiting,"said Saban.""That was just on the edge of the (Jeremy) Shelley.Les rank gave the momentum of the game back."

For a set that included only a change of lead, there were several wild emotional swings.

Turnovers and works of botched extraordinario-equipos were a factor, but none was large enough as to shovel Alabama hole 18 points just dug 15 minutes in the game.

"I think that this would be," said head coach Steve Spurrier, who is now second in the SEC WINS Bear Bryant's behind South Carolina (107 to 159). «»«I have used a line this week I've ever used in my life, but our basketball team already beat No. 1 (computer) and our baseball team had done, I said.»"Fellas, if destination means for us win this game on Saturday and then let's give him a chance.'"

Alabama football: Alfred McCullough goes from right offensive tackle utility man

Red tide focuses on best practice habits

By MICHAEL CASAGRANDE

Special Ledger-Enquirer

TUSCALOOSA, wing.-Missed tackles.

Assignments of blowing.

Expensive fines set.

The broken foundations that large scale for the defense of Alabama. Therefore practice this week has been a mixture of two days and game preparation for the Saturday 9 9 of the PM evening visits Mississippi.

For a program and a drive that prides itself on mastering the basics, have failures contribute in large part to 35-21 in South Carolina last Saturday's loss has players and coaches looking for answers.

Make no mistake: malpractice in weeks habits are a main culprit, said.

"" There are some basic things you can never get away,"said coach Nick Saban."…In spite of not to meet everyone and bring them to the Earth (in practice), you must get into the correct position thud boy and the hips and do all those things. As well, we have towards and towards and envelope our guys long throughout the year to finish, you know, terminar.Thud the corredor.Acabado.Hacer what you are supposed to do. what well, we did that great as a team, what happens in the game? "We started losing tackles."

Aspirations are particularly damaging in the backfield against South Carolina.

Saban noted the fourth-and-2 in the first quarter when Alabama seemed Gamecocks quarterback Stephen Garcia is confined in the backfield. But García break it off the left side of the scrum contain where was blowing, and a first down kept business unit. One suit later, a touchdown pass South Carolina gave a 14-3 lead.

It is more important than any other factor in a tackle body positioning.

"I mean, we get ahead of them, the corridor of squaring and only thud them up instead of just taking them to the ground," nose guard said Josh Chapman.

Since learned how more difficult with the first defeat in 19 games Saban said players are now willing to correct the problems that existed prior to travel to Colombia last week.

Another matter requiring attention involves over-aggressive anticipation of the counts of adjustment. In six games this season, Alabama has been marked 11 times for jump racing. At this point in the season a year ago, Alabama defenders had a single flag set and finished the season with only five in total.

While some of the indicators this year were charged to special teams, most belong to the line of Defense, including three of the four tormented in the four Sur.Dos Carolina arrived in units of touchdown, while the former was rejected because succeeded to first move the Gamecocks touchdown.

"It is disciplined," said defensive end Marcell Dareus, who jumped on the line of scrimmage twice against Florida.""We must work on ello.Es something you do not need to be ocurriendo.Trabajamos that in practice (defensive line) (Bo) coach Davis, is discipline justa.Tenemos work on this."

Now with a team of Mississippi who likes to run the option to arrive at Bryant-Denny Stadium, discipline will be needed more than ever for the defense of such radical marea.Ajustes compete with fundamental reminders in practice.

The rudder is quarterback Jeremiah Masoli, Oregon, which may be the worst nightmare of a tackler unstable transfer.

""The man has a great feeling to run the offense is running now, which is more than one offence of Oregon, style"Saban Masoli said.""Still has a lot of the typical Houston Nutt things that have made - down the Hill, runs the power, but the option of the same, the boy is extremely rápido.Él is physical as a corredor.Es a good lanzador.Él is a good climber and works by launching as a mountaineer, so it is probably the best type of combination we have seen for a while."
